I know it sounds crazy, I have a three year old. He is well, he is three. Last night he threw the most severe tantrum I have seen his throw. Today he asked mommy why she was doing devotions and after some explaining and trying not to put words in his mouth he decided that he needed to ask Jesus to come into his heart.
Does he understand? I don't know, but as a daddy I want one thing more than anything. I want my family to be a family that follows Jesus. So I am excited about his decision, and I am going to continue over the years to help him understand the decision he made. If he didn't get it (which is very possible, maybe even likely) I pray he will some day soon and the decision then will be the same.

That is wonderful news! Tell about the angels throwing a party! I asked Jesus into my heart about age 3/4 - not sure of the date, but this is definitely possible on some level of understanding although obviously it will grow much through the years. Both my children took this step at age 4, I think the Holy Spirit stirs in children's hearts much younger than some people give credit for. Enjoy this Christmas season with your family, and the new believe :-) P.S. He may still throw some tantrums :-)
I concur...my son asked Jesus into his heart around 4/5 and has continued to grow...sort of progressive like the rest of us Jesus followers. "Raise up a child in the way they should go" has no minimum age as far as I can see...
I remember my sister accepting the Lord at a very young age. She too accepted Christ at age 3-4. My family and I were amazed because it was such a grown-up thing to do, and equally amazed because she fully understood what her actions meant. The Holy Spirit does stir the hearts of children and gives them understanding seemingly beyond their years. Bless you and your family!
